I really appreciate a nice mouse. For FPS and design work, I require the most accurate, high-resolution mouse I can get. When I finally could afford to obtain what I considered the best I found out it occasionally sucks.
I bought the Logitech G7 Wireless Mouse and a custom printed Func Industries 1030 Mousepad about 3 months ago. Since then I’ve found that sometimes the tracking goes haywire.
I’m not sure why this happens. It could be that the mousepad is slightly moist. Most gamers know that after even an hour of intense gameplay your palms are sweating. However, it does this sometimes without any traceable amount of moisture on the pad.
In order to correct this I have to use a different part of the mousepad. That is just unacceptable.
Does anyone know a fix? I just bought a Razer Copperhead Anarchy Laser Gaming Mouse. Hopefully this thing will kick ass like it should.
The glutton buttons proved to be as addictive as the food, and Burger King is now reporting that because of the sales of the three games, their company has achieved a 40% increase in profits for the financial quarter, with a total of 3.2 million game sales so far. Isn’t that more than Lost Planet and almost as much as Gears of War? Jeez.

Burning Crusades has brought World of Warcraft back on it’s warpath of life destruction. For a while there, I thought I might actually quit playing World of Warcraft and switch to Eve. I had initiated a number of alternative plans. I’m still playing Eve Online however I’m training up at 15 day skill at the moment and haven’t been in tough with my fleet in about a week. I started playing Quake 4 as if I might actually enter a tournament at QuakeCon this year. Then there’s the Wii.
So many paths but only one clear choice. Burning Crusades.
Players rabidly chomp at the bit to log in on mal’ganis and then chomp more for camped quest mobs and instance runs. You’re already a noob if you want to do blood furnace, god forbid ramparts. Most players are at least level 62. I’m taking my sweet time because I paid almost $50 for this expansion. I’m going to look at every new mob and imagine a story for each new location I encounter. I’m going to role-play the god damn instances. I’m going to read the entire quest briefing!
So most people have seen the earlier video of some guy playing HL2 on his laptop with the Wiimote by itself, and it looked pretty clunky. Pat Glint, or PJG2005 decided to make his own version by embedding a driver inside the game itself, making the controls much smoother and take use of the nunchuck as well. Check it out.

Netflix has started an experimental new server called Watch Now. The server includes on-demand streaming video directly to a subscribers computer. Currently the service is only for Windows PC’s using a downloadable viewing application. The service unit is hours viewed, and subscribers have more or less hours to watch streaming video depending on their subscription. The $18/month service plan allots you 18 hours of streaming Watch Now.
Currently the new Watch Now service is available to around 6 million Netflix subscribers and is free.
As the IPTV/on-demand arena heats up, others are moving in step. Blockbuster recently announced major convenient service additions to their on-demand service, allowing users to return videos to their local Blockbuster instead of mailing them back. In addition you get free move rentals for use at store locations. Despite this, Blockbuster is shutting down their game rentals.
Also, The Venice Project has a new name, Joost, and a disgusting new website. I like the whole “color spectrum” theme, but man, that new website is ass. Hopefully it sucks so badly because they’re busting their ass to get real content into the beta. (Yeah you beta testers know what I’m talking about!)

I’m at work reading about all the world of warcraft hordes waiting in line for burning crusades. I’ve got mine pre-ordered as well but I’m not in much of a rush. Azeroth will always be there waiting for me.
I played Quake 4 today in preparation for QuakeCon. I think I am going to try to attend this year and maybe take my computer in for the BYOC… depending on how well I can play Q4. While I was exploring the game I decide to start a new section on LaterNerdz. I’m going to do game reviews but only of the first 20 minutes. It will be called First Impressions and I’ll just cover my first impressions of the game, installation, and game play. That’s it. I think Quake 4, Eve, and Burning Crusades will be the first reviews.
The Draenei will be unreleased, the Outlands shall be explored, millions of people will log on to experience Blizzard’s World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade expansion.”
Expect server issues.
